We are currently running only 1 group class per week, which is a technical latin class, held on Mondays at 6 pm. This class is all for all levels and ages. Milla MacDonald breaks down steps to help you understand them inside-out. Learn how to use every part of your body, from the top of your head to your fingertips and your toes, to best present yourself as a dancer.

Beginners are welcome! We teach technique in easy figures where it can be understood, so it can be applied later in advanced steps. Registration and payment is done in 10-week time slots. Pick any week to start, or drop in on a class.

Frequently Asked Questions by New Students:

1. I’ve never danced before, and I’m nervous. Do I need prior experience?

Our Beginner Ballroom & Latin Program is designed for complete beginners. You don’t need any experience, or natural talent to join this session.

2. I have experience in another form of dance. Is the Beginner Ballroom & Latin Program right for me?

We recommend you begin with the Beginner Latin Program (this class runs at a slightly faster pace), or the Intermediate Latin Program, or the Latin Technique Program.

3. What should I wear to my first dance class?

Wear comfortable clothes that allow for mobility.

For women, heels are not required. Shoes should be flexible, and should form well against the foot. Beware – regular heels are very different from dance heels! Make sure you can move in the shoes you pick.

For men, any comfortable shoes work. Avoid wearing shoes with a black rubber sole, as it sticks to hardwood floor.

4. How long is each class?

Each lesson is 45 minutes long.

5. Do I need to have a dance partner?

You don’t need a dance partner to join any of our classes. If you have a partner, then definitely bring them to class!

The Beginner Ballroom & Latin Program tends to be more popular with couples. The rest of our programs attract more single dancers.

6. How many times a week will I have a class?

Every program has one class per week. Some of our students sign up for 4 or more programs, and trade their gym memberships for dance classes. Dancing is a great way to stay in shape!

7. What happens if I need to miss one of my classes?

Check out the Studio’s Missed/Cancelled Classes Policy below.

The Studio’s Missed/Cancelled Classes Policy:

Group classes are non-refundable. If you have an unpredictable schedule, or if you want to try a class before registering, try a drop-in at either our Beginner Ballroom & Latin class or Latin Technique Classes. The drop-in fee is $22 per class. A drop-in doesn’t apply to the Beginner Latin and Beginner Ballroom classes.

Miss a class during your session? Make it up by attending another class in our roster before your session ends.

Missed group classes due to travelling can be transferred to further sessions if the studio is notified about which classes you will miss at the start of the session.

Private classes require a 24-hour cancellation notice or the student will be charged for the lesson.
